Cardiocrinum cordatum
CHF55.00Price
Cardiocrinum cordatum is another dwarf species from Japan. Reaches from 50-120cm at most, long lemon yellow-white fragrant flowers. Flowers in June/July. Sometimes the cordatum variety glehnii can be found more frequently than the type species cordatum which is rarer in cultivation. Growing advice is similar to other species in the genus, requiring humus-rich soil in half-shade. Having grown the species for a number of years here in Switzerland, I find it more difficult for the young bulbs to reach flowering size as sometimes the bulbs will die or disappear for no apparent reason, and I have therefore never been fortunate to observe this species in bloom myself yet!
