Lilium sulphureum
CHF55.00Price
A nice chinese trumpet lilium species, which extends the flowering of trumpet species, as it never flowers before mid august, and continues into september. The bulbs are charachteristically rounded and deep purple in colour. The stems produce bulbils in the leaf axils, just like lilium sargentiae (see video with Naula sterling). They can be multimplied in this way, or by scaling.
Prefers excellent drainage, and is more sensitive to to much winter wet than lilium regale. Grows well in deep pots, which can be brought under cover in winter. A few exceptional large specimen sized (for this species) bulbs available. rarely available at this size, these all have very nice roots.
