A beautiful hippeastrum species from Brazil, it produces greenish purple flowers almost resembling a tropical orchid. Pretty much evergreen, it produces its flower spikes sporadically between February and October. Tender so needs to be kept frost free during the winter but can be placed in the garden in half shade during spring and summer with regular liquid feeding to promote flowering.
