Iris dardanus is a stunning species from central Asia where it grows on rocky hillsides in full sun. Its pink, purple flowers streaked in black definitely become a focal point in May-June in any rockery. Easy to grow, can get to 30cm tall. In view of its shorter size this is an ideal species for a raised bed.
