A fabulous species from the Middle East where it grows in dry rocky sites in full sun, reaching 170 cm's tall in may with highly scented purple flowers. Summer dormant, reemerging with new leaves in october but fully hardy, making large, long rhizomes. These are big FS rhizomes.
