A superb chinese species, which can, once established, produce 30-40 flowers to a stem, sometimes more, flowering in July/August. Best grown in a well drained, humus rich soil enriched with pine needles for drainage in half shade, as the flowers tend to loose their colour quicker in full sun. This is a strong stem rooter, so plant with at least 15-20 cm's of soil covering the bulb. Very short dormancy period, for best results plant between November-February.
