Lilium medeoloides

A real gem from Japan, where it grows on very well drained volcanic soils, covered in an insulating layer of snow in winter keeping bulbs dry, reaching 20-60 cm's with its orange peel coloured trukscap flowers. Bulbs are very brittle, small and white. If you order these you will recieve a small clump with bulbs and roots in a ball of soil, which can be transplanted as it is, with minimal disturbance for the bulb. Plant ideally in a raised bed of very well drained humus rich soil with a bit of perlite or fine composted pine bark for drainage, covered in winter to keep away excess moisture.
