When established, its stems can reach well over 3M tall, with over 40 flowers to a stem. Just as canadense, it produces stolons and new bulbs at the end of these. If you want to increase your lilium superbums quickly, plant them in large pots, as they do seem to actually like the confinement of a pot in order to spread. However, this meens the bulbs will usually need lifting and dividing every 2 years or so in october.
 
Lilium superbum is very variable in flower colour and shape. This variety seems to produce smaller bulbs and orange flowers very heavily spotted in brown.
