Much rarer than lycoris radiata, this is hardy, but produces its large leaves in october, after the flowers. these persist untill april, and are in themselves not frost hardy. if they get frost damage, the plant may not flower in the coming autumn, so it is best grown in a deep pot, kept slightly dry in summer. Keep frost free when in leaf.
